Honours even against Ingles.

Clipstone went ahead twice but manager Dean Short will have to wait another week for his first Clipstone victory. The Cobras make one change from the team narrowly beaten at Radford with Solly Limb replacing the suspended Brad Cox.

Richard Guest, a defender signed this month from Ashland Rovers, comes on as a late substitute to make his Cobras’ debut.

Goals from Sheldon McDonald and man of the match Elliot Holmes saw the hosts lead at half time before a Sean Woolley penalty made it 2-2.

Clipstone took the lead when Rob Paling plays a short free-kick to Sheldon McDonald on the edge of the box and the striker turns neatly and fires his left- footed shot inside the near post. 1-0

After 24 mins Ingles equalise after Paling does well to block an initial goal-bound effort and the ball falls to Kyle Fowkes who rifles home from eight yards.

It didn’t take long for the the home side regain the lead when a corner is only cleared as far as Adon Spencer and his cross from the left is headed away only as far as Elliot Holmes who fires past ‘keeper Oliver Buchanan from 15 yards out.

It took until the 67th minute when Ingles’ substitute Lloyd Tapper gets past Spencer on the right-hand side of the box and cuts inside where he is adjudged to have been fouled by Danny Bacon as the former Mansfield Town midfielder attempted to block the run. Sean Woolley scores the resulting penalty.

In the dying moments of the game and fears of Radford happening again, it took until the fifth minute of injury time for Sheppard to pull off an excellent save to turn a shot from Woolley round the post. The visitors then have a loud penalty appeal turned down by Mr Booth after Elliot Holmes challenges Tapper on the edge of the box and the Ingles player goes to ground.

FT 2-2
