The Cobras lost to Liversedge on Tuesday night 5-1 with goals from Morton, Kane, Brook & a Wales double.
Clipstone started off the livelier team and Stephen Lisgo beat everything but the woodwork before Matthew Hubbard fired the rebound straight at the goalkeeper. However, the early pressure wasn’t enough to open the scoring and Liversedge grabbed the opener through Devonate Morton after 19 minutes.
Kane made it 2-0 for the visitors with a free kick from 22 yards out. The mountain became higher when Elliot Holmes was sent off for a second caution after 39 minutes.
Wales then added another Liversedge goal to make it 3-0. Wales runs into the area and fires the ball past Alexander despite close attention from two defenders.
Clipstone did grab a goal back through Gareth Curtis after a nice set up from Adam Somes just before half time.
Into the second half Clipstone right back Ben Burbanks was brought on to provide more cover defensively after the Holmes sending off. A short well-worked corner from Liversedge however did give them a fourth goal of the night.
The last goal came on the 63rd minute when the Cobras defence backed off and Tom Brook makes it 5-1 with an unstoppable 25-yard shot.
