A great evening saw the young Cobras beat Mansfield Towns U19’s squad 2-1 with a impressive second half performance which saw them score 2 goals in quick succession.
It was a evening to remember for the Clipstone history books as it was the first time the U21’s have played on home soil.
Vice-chairman Andy Sumner commented: “This week our newly formed U21 side also took on Mansfield Town U19’s in a friendly match. It was a really proud moment for the club and testament to the commitment of the management team to want to make this happen and to start building the club from the ground up and giving local lads a chance. With the challenges we have faced this year, setting up a new team is not always the first thing you do when you are stretched for resources, but the club and management team were passionate about building the foundations in the right way.”
