The Cobras exited the NCEL League Cup in dramatic fashion as Ollerton scored the winning goal in the final minute of extra time.
Clipstone played their part in an end to end game and their finishing was particularly clinical.
The visitors went in at half time leading 2-1 with two goals from debutant Charlie Hardwick, with Gav King getting Ollerton’s goal.
Ollerton captain Sam Stretton then missed a penalty in the 55th minute after Mark Carter was taken out by Levi Owen.
An 80th minute goal from Carter and a second from King with eight minutes remaining looked to have won the game for Ollerton. Have substitute Alfie Gaughan levelled for Clipstone in 90th minute after a corner wasn’t cleared properly.
The game went into extra time in heavy rain with the home side having the majority of possession and hitting the woodwork twice. Tom Sharpe missed a chance for the Cobras after he delayed his shot too long.
With penalties looking likely, Rhys Gray hit the post for the Cobras when through on goal in the 119th minute and then Carter grabbed the winner for Ollerton in the 120th minute when he shot across Owen from seven yards out.
