Clipstone have bolstered the goalkeeping department ahead of Saturday’s game with Sherwood Colliery with the signing of former goalkeeper Charlie Dando.
The 18-year-old arrives from Rainworth Miners Welfare which will see him compete with Sam Ogden & Ryan Skidmore. Dando is no stranger to Clipstone and featured last season playing 17 games and won the young player of the year accolade but moved onto pastures new at the beginning of the season.
“We are delighted to bring Charlie back to the club,” said Clipstone boss Dave Hoole. “Charlie is a young, very talented goalkeeper who knows the club well and has a very bright future in the game.
“We believe he’s at the perfect place for him to continue his development and and I’m sure Charlie will benefit from our goalkeeping coach Malc Siddall just like Oggy (Sam Ogden) has done.
Dando signed for the Cobras under former manager Micky Taylor in the summer of 2018 as deputy to Dale Sheppard and made his Clipstone debut in a 1-0 defeat against Sherwood Colliery in October 2018. As the season went on Dando took his chances when they came and made it a tough choice for the management team to pick between him and Sheppard.
