To our players, supporters, committee members, sponsors and partners.
For us, at Clipstone, it was a season of what if’s and but’s. It is easy for me and the management team to look forward to next season but since lockdown we have had time to reflect on our season and I do wonder what might have been had we got a better start to the season. Of course it was tough but the Rainworth game kickstarted us and you lads wanted to keep improving and that attitude is why we started to gain some momentum and form.
Like any other club some players will move on to pastures new and we wish them well but we have a good group of lads here and I think most will want to give this league another go next year.
I want to thank our small but dedicated committee & volunteers for their amazing efforts home and away this season, you are the back bone of our club. Richard and Brad have done a incredible job this year, along with Malc who quietly goes about his business trying to keep on top of all the paperwork for the players.
Dan, Mark and Jim have done superbly on the media side, we’ve had a great media presence this year online and through the local paper. Some top end non-league clubs can’t produce the sort of work the three of you produce.
Paul, Anne & Brunty have all done their bit this year, Paul & Anne like to do their thing in the background but are extremely dedicated to the cause while Brunty always does a cracking job on the turnstiles and is there supporting the boys both home and away always picking up the kit!
Finally my last mention on the volunteers, to Becky and Pete who selflessly come and help out in the Cafe for every home game, they don’t get to watch the game and are always first to be at the ground prepping the food and drink ready for matchday.
“We have a terrific bunch of lads here whom have made our first season in charge extremely enjoyable. I want to thank each and every one of them for their efforts. To our award winners today (25th July), well deserved and well done”.
It is important for me to also mention the work our coaches and members from our fantastic set up from Tim Wainwright & Brad Rodda managing the under 18’s to our physios Emma & Tom. You are the foundations of our club and we are very proud to see the development of such wonderful talent within each teams. Keep up the great work. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for our lads.
A penultimate note, I want to thank my coaching team, Dale Spragg (Assistant Manager), Josh Waldram (First Team Coach), and of course Malc Siddall (Goalkeeping Coach). You have all been a dream to work with and I honestly couldn’t do this job without your friendship, expertise and most importantly your joint commitment and drive for our great club to succeed. Keep up the fantastic work.
It leaves me to say thank you to our small but loyal support. It didn’t quite happen this season but as the manager of this great and fantastic club I can promise you we will use our first season as motivation to succeed for the future. We hope this happens from next season.
Up the Cobras,
