Clipstone 2020-21 Squad.

On the eve of the new footballing season, Clipstone F.C. are delighted to announce our squad for the forthcoming season.

It’s been a long and busy pre-season and Dave Hoole has been busy retaining players, as well as making new additions to the squad. Keeping his key players from last season was crucial to our plans and it’s great news that the player of the year and players’ player of the season; Tom Weaver & Sam Ogden respectively, have both committed to the club for another season.

Club captain, Lewis Warwick and First Team captain Jason Foster have both put pen to paper, whilst last season’s top goalscorer Jack Warwick also returns for another season.

Inform striker Jack Siddall has also signed for another season along with 8 of last season’s squad. Matt Leyland, Mitch Mullins, Dec Whitton, Josh Pickering, Ethan Blackbourn, Marcus Beddoe, Curt Birchall & Ryan Skidmore are all staying with the club.

The Cobras’ new boys include the return of former defenders Rob Paling and Blake Vincent. Rob is well known at the Lido Ground having made over 300 appearances for the club, whilst Blake made 12 appearances during the 2018/19 season.

Hoole has been busy bolstering his attacking options with the signings of Teversal F.C. Top scorer Danny Fulwood (15 goals in 25 games) and Matlock Town strikers Chib Chilaka and Lewis Hardy.

More experienced heads have also joined the club too, with defender Aaron Pride and midfielder Chris Smith. Pride played for Teversal last season and former professional Chris Smith has a number of big clubs on his playing CV including Reading, Mansfield Town and York City.

Jonny Watkin, Alex Mann, and Richard Williams complete the list of new signings. A big thank you to the management team who have done a tremendous job in maintaining our core squad and adding to it with the new quality signings.
