After an unbeaten September Clipstone fell to their first defeat in the league against West Bridgford on Saturday.
The visitors are becoming something of a bogey side for the Cobras with Josh Rae giving Bridgford the lead on the stroke of half-time, unleashing a brilliant strike from at least 25-yards out.
Abou Sylla doubled the lead after the break, with an adventurous shot, which seemed to be just beyond goalkeeper Monty Parkes reach.
Bridgford manager, Chris Galley, had to endure a nervy four minutes of stoppage time after a mistake from the inform Fogg in goal. After good pressing from Jonny Watkin, Fogg’s miskick went straight into the path of Jack Warwick, the striker converted cooly from outside the box, but West Bridgford held out.
After the game assistant manager Dale Spragg said:
“It was a game that was pretty even with few chances, the visitors were very hard working and made it difficult for us.
“But we never gave up and I see our team will fight until the last second. But we need to relax and stay calm when in the final third.”
