Kimberley 1-4 Clipstone (Siddall 17,38 Lowe 34 Green 72)
The Cobras put in a second excellent performance in a row on Thursday night to leave Kimberley with a very positive 4-1 win.
Clipstone took a deserved lead after 17 minutes, brilliant work down the right from Daniel Degg ended with Taylor Siddall one on one with the goalkeeper, he waited for the goalkeeper to go down and lifted a perfect finish into the roof of the net. Kimberley equalized on the half hour mark following a mix up in the Clipstone defence. A poor back pass left the Kimberley striker in on goal and he finished easily.
The Cobras retained the lead shortly after through a fine goal from Jack Lowe. Daniel Degg played a ball into Jack’s feet, he turned the defender brilliantly and unleashed a perfectly placed finish into the bottom corner from twelve yards. The away side extended their lead four minutes later through another fine finish from Taylor Siddall. More great play from Jack Lowe saw him free Harry Lindsay down the Clipstone right. He delivered a pinpoint cross towards Siddall who took a touch before placing the ball out of the goalkeeper’s reach into the bottom corner.
The second half saw a much improved Kimberley performance but Clipstone rose to the challenge well. An excellent defensive display from the Cobra’s saw no further goals conceded. Only one real chance of note for the home side in the second half saw an excellent save from Fin Batty in the Clipstone goal. The final goal of the game again came from the away side, a brilliant free kick from Jack Sellars caused problems in the Kimberley area and Alex Green was on hand to head home the loose ball over the goalkeeper.
Winning 2 out of 2 in their opening fixtures, Scott Rogers and his backroom team are working hard to get the best out of their boys and the hard work is certainly paying dividends.
