RUDY FUNK APPOINTED NEW MANAGER OF CLIPSTONE FC

CLIPSTONE FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Rudy Funk as their new First team manager with immediate effect.

Rudy has had a long and successful career managing teams throughout non league football, taking clubs like Rainworth MW, Long Eaton, Scarborough and AFC Mansfield forward and some with several levels of promotion back to back.

The Cobras Vice Chairman Paul Griffiths said “ We are absolutely delighted that Rudy has decided to join us and come on board here at the Lido ground at such an exciting time for the club. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience and his proven track record speaks for itself”

Rudy has also introduced Graeme Rodger (AKA Jock) formally at Basford Utd who play in the Northern Premier League as his Assistant Manager along with retaining the Cobras GK Coach Tony Wigfull and club Physio Luke Randle which completes the backroom staff line-up.

Rudy commented “there are some big plans ahead. The Chairman has a plan, the clubs got a plan, they want to get the community involved and to me I think that was the biggest attraction. The community has supported me over the years and if I can give something back that would be fantastic. Its that buzz, its that excitement that everyone at the club told me they want to create here, and what they want to achieve, I think the vision is something unbelievable. Tonight I’m talking to you now and I’m off the scale, I’m buzzing and I’m excited, its just the whole package here”

When the Cobras captain Jason Foster was asked about the clubs future he replied “ There are a lot of smiles on faces and there does seem to be a buzz around the training ground tonight, all the lads are buzzing for Saturday with a fresh start, hopefully we can get a good result on Saturday and get Rudy’s reign off to a good start”

With the cobras in the bottom half of the NCEL Division 1 table currently, they hope that the appointment of the new management team will bring back the winning ways that the cobras enjoyed at the start of the season, and who knows where this journey can take them, its all systems go now for the Cobras and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season.
