Match summary by Owen Hardwick:

On a difficult afternoon at the Lido Ground, The Cobras was second best all over the park and played a strong, cohesive Ollerton Town side who were in-form with 2 wins in 2 and 10 goals across the two. But the Cobras had many players returning to the depleted side that lost to Glasshoughton the previous week with 5 changes from the game the previous week

But on 5 minutes, the opening of a disappointing afternoon began to unfold when Sam Geeves broke down the right side and placed a ball across goal for Gav King to tap home from close range to get his 100th goal for Ollerton. And a minute later, it nearly got worse for the Cobras when Etia broke in behind and placed a cross to King who’s header hit the bar.

On 14 minutes, Cobras created one of few chances when Adam Lillie picked the ball up 20 yards from goal and forced Levi Owen into a routine save. 7 minutes later it saw Ollerton pile on further pressure when a free-kick on the left hand side was delivered to George Slack who’s header caused a goal mouth scramble before the Cobras cleared.

35 minutes and Ollerton had doubled their lead when a failed clearance by the Cobras saw King poke home for his second goal of the game. And 2 minutes later the afternoon for the Cobras go t worse when Etia broke in behind, and slotted it to Ollie Grady who smashed home into an empty Clipstone net.

HT 0-3

On 63 minutes, Sam Geeves broke down the wing once again before he laid the ball off to Ollie Grady who saw his effort deflect past the post. And following the corner, Gav King sealed his hat-trick, making it 4-0 to Ollerton.

5 minutes later, Oscar Seth grabbed a debut goal for Ollerton Town as he tapped home from close range to seal off a perfect afternoon for Ollerton. 70 minutes, the Cobras afternoon went from bad to worse when midfielder Kofi Appiah received a second-yellow card. However, 3 minutes later the Cobras created their best opportunity of the game, when sub Jake McGowan volleyed a shot towards goal forcing Levi Owen into a decent save.

On 78 minutes, King broke in behind and was fouled in the box and Ollie Grady placed his penalty past Charlie Preston in the Clipstone goal.

FT 0-6
