Match summary by Owen Hardwick:

After a heavy 8-1 defeat in mid-week to Parkgate, The interim Cobras Manager Paul Griffiths made 4 changes with new lads Max Cook and Tom Wood getting their first start for the Cobras and Kofi Appiah returning from suspension, and Jack Sellars who has been promoted from the U19s to play with the first team. But on 4 minutes, A charging run from Josh Dennett who’s shot was blocked. But minutes later a brilliant ball by Josh Whiteley saw the resulting shot crash off the post.

On 22 minutes, The Cobras had the best chance between the sides, when young Tom Wood raced in behind the Ferriby defence but he saw his shot just go narrowly wide. But minutes later, Ferriby found the opener through their dangerman Josh Whiteley after a Danny Buttle cross was turned home by Whiteley.

43 minutes gone, A great corner delivery by Ferriby saw the shot saved on the line by Jamie Royle and saw him sent off, and lead to Ferriby scoring the resulting penalty to make it 0-2 at HT.

HT 0-2

And once again to the young cobras, they kept fighting for 90 minutes, but on 47 minutes the game was sealed through Josh Whiteley who made it a hat-trick and a perfect day for the travelling North Ferriby fans. After this the game settled down, with both sides having a handful of chances to put away, and when Nathan Moss broke in behind the Ferriby defence it saw his resulting shot go over the bar.

But after a battling performance by a young cobras side with the average age of just 19 years old, against a strong and experienced North Ferriby side was a great result and one the club and the players can be proud off heading into the last 2 games of the season.

FT 0-3

Clipstone remain in 19th place with 22 points from 37 games and the final relegation place would appear to be a battle between the Cobras and Swallownest. The Cobras next game is away at top of the league Hallam on Saturday 2nd April, 3pm KO
