NEWS: Gary Doncaster appointed Cobras’ Reserves Manager!

Clipstone FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Doncaster as the club’s reserve manager for the 22/23 season!

Doncaster, who departs local team Woodhouse Colts to join the Cobras, will be heading into the Central Midlands League next season, Gary “Donc” Doncaster who is an ex-cobras player re-joins the club for his second managerial role.

Donc said on his appointment: “Being appointed reserves manager is an honour, ive lived in Clipstone all my life, so ive grown up watching my dad play for Clipstone for many years and played under my dad in the reserves.” Donc further went on to say that “the club is looking strong in terms of its future, the first-team manager, the committee are heading Clipstone in the right direction and hopefully get more local people down to support the Cobras! – Im most excited about working under a well-structured first team management team and excited to learn from them and this is a new challenge to start fresh. I’m hoping the reserves and first team link allow us to rise up the footballing pyramid and move forward as one big family”

Vice-chairman Paul Griffiths commented on the appointment of Gary Doncaster: “We are excited to have Gary on board heading up our new reserves team, it will complete the pathway from the Colts foundation through to adult football in the first team giving our older youth players an opportunity to start playing adult football in preparation for hopefully joining with the first team and possibly beyond into professional football. Gary brings with him a wealth of experience and local knowledge which is invaluable to the club moving forward and allows Clipstone to provide excellent facilities and pathway for our local footballers. With the future plans for the club and the management teams that now have in place we have never been so excited here at the club and we are sure that we can now move on to bigger and better things. It’s also great to have a former player from the club returning in a managerial position. The club takes great pride in mentoring and supporting players and coaches ambitions throughout the community and it’s important to us that the community now get behind the club and take it forward to where it should be.

The Reserves backroom staff will be announced imminently alongside their pre-season friendlies! UTC!
