But returns for a second stint with the Cobras!

Smith primarily played as a centre back He was praised for his organisational skills and ability to communicate. Chris “Smudger” Smith was also recognised for his goalscoring ability for a defender; in 2005, he was described by the Worcester News as “often a predator in the opposition’s penalty box”.

Hoole said on the appointment of Chris Smith: ” We are delighted to have Chris Smith on board, we have had him here previously as a player in which he will continue his duties as a player but we believe that his knowledge of the game is invaluable on and off the pitch which helps spur on our younger players coming through the ranks and is generally a top guy and club-man which the club is looking for to help lay future foundations”
